Playname: Downline 1
1
Top line 1, 5, 6 swims down the pool to the 2 meter line.  Do not stop at the 5 meter.

Positions 2, 3, 4 swim down the pool.
2
Positions 2, 4 release from their defender at mid pool and look for the ball (go on your back, if necessary).

Based upon who is open the goalie throws to either 2, 4 on the outside (not an inside pass).

Based upon whether 2 or 4 gets the ball, positions 1, 5 get outside position on their defender to receive the ball.  Also the hole set tries to get position on that side to receive the ball.

Position 3 continue down the pool to the 5 meter position.
3
In this example position 4 releases and is open and the goalie throws a wet pass to the outside for 4.

Position 5 gets ball side and 4 throws the ball down line to the outside for 5.
4
At this point position 5 has the ball and depending on the available options will do the following:

a1) Quickly determine if 6 (hole set) is on ball side and has his defender on his back and your defender is not fronting him - make a wet pass into 6 ( within arm\rquote s length of 6).   Once the ball is in 6 (hole set) has approx 3 seconds to shoot or pass the ball back out to driving 4 or positions 5, 3.  When 4 is driving positions 1, 2, 3 should move over to cover for the vacant position 4.

a2) When 6 has the ball 4 should drive to the left across the goal toward 1 (the 2 meter area) to get open for a pass from either 6.  If 4 gets a pass they should rise up and shoot.  When 4 is driving positions 1, 2, 3 should move over to cover for the vacant position 4.

a3) Always remember if the shot clock goes below 5 seconds - dump the ball, do not take a wild shot. In this example position 4 releases and is open and the goalie throws a wet pass to the outside for 4.

Position 5 gets ball side and 4 throws the ball down line to the outside for 5.
5
At this point position 5 has the ball and depending on the available options will do the following:

c1) Position 6 (hole set) is not in position to get an open pass.

c2) Position 2 should drive across the goal toward the 2 meter area. Position 5 must determine if a wet pass can be made to 2, if so, pass to the driving 2.  If the 6 defender comes out to stop 2, 6 gets open for a pass from 2 and shoots.  Positions 1, shifts to fill position 2.

c3) If the 6 defender does not come out after 2 driver, but the defender for 5 comes out, 2 passes to 5 player (be sure to not be within the 2 meter line.  Position 5 drives to the goal to shoot.

c4) Always remember if the shot clock goes below 5 seconds - dump the ball, do not take a wild shot.
6
At this point position 5 has the ball and depending on the available options will do the following:

d1) Position 6 (hole set) is not in position to get an open pass

d2) Position 4 cannot drive for whatever reason.

d3) Reset and pass ball back out to 4.

d5) Position 4 passes the ball to 3 and 3 passes to 2 to try and go down line on the left side to 1.

d6) Here again like with down line to 5, objective is to try and get it to an open 6 with drives from 4 or 2.

c4) Always remember if the shot clock goes below 5 seconds - dump the ball, do not take a wild shot.
7
In this example position 2 releases and is open and the goalie throws a wet pass to the outside for 2.

Position 1 gets ball side and 2 throws the ball down line to the outside for 1.

Same sequences as slides 3 through 7 to follow.
